Main Considerations

Language & Communication

For preschoolers, the focus is on developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Daily engagement in Spanish conversation and following instructions show how children should now be able to communicate in both Spanish and English. Teachers will aid students in grammar and syntax.

Cognitive Developments

For preschoolers, the focus should now be on counting 1-50, patterns, sorting, grouping, and measurement comparisons. In Science the focus should be on observations, forming questions and hypothesis, and forming a prediction.

Approaches to Learning

We encourage preschoolers to have curiosity, engagement, persistence, innovation and risk-taking attitude toward learning.

Motor Development

The focus for preschoolers is in fine-motor development. Particularly in writing movement, letter tracing, and ability to zip up and button up clothes.

Social & Emotional Development

By now preschoolers should be able to label emotion. They should be able to verbalize how they are feeling and be able to start self-coping mechanisms. Further learning is provided in storybooks about social and emotional topics.

Art

Art is combined through self-reflection and open-ended questions. Pre-schoolers are encouraged to combine artistic elements and mix-media to develop their artwork. Teacher’s aid preschoolers are being able to describe their artwork and how to innovate it.
